Next, the doctor examines and treats the patient.
Next, the doctor completes the examination and then treats the patient. When the doctor leaves the patient, the nurse provides the patient with any discharge instructions. She then escorts the patient to checkout. The chart goes back to the front desk where the fee slip, progress notes, consent forms, and payment agreements are all scanned into the system. If there are any additional requirements that need to be completed by the doctor, such as dictating a letter to the referring physician, the clipboard goes back to the doctor's office. Once the doctor is done with the paperwork, the file is destroyed.  back
